My Brother’s Big Contract

My brother recently was awarded a bid on a huge contract with the city. His company will be replacing the main waterlines that supply the downtown area. The first thing he did was install a flowmeter on each line and monitored it for about a week. This step gave him a very clear idea of the amount of water that passed through the lines, and helped him determine where the pipes needed to be larger or smaller to keep up with the demand of the water flow. It will take several years to complete this project, but when it is completed the city will have a more efficient water system.
