Talking to the Parents

Tonight after my animation class, one of my students asked me if I could talk with his parents. I really like this kid, I think he has a lot of talent and a future in computer animation, so I of course agreed. They weren’t exactly what I expected. They were a bit on the rude side. They were upset with me for filling their son’s head with silly ideas about cartoons. I took a deep breath, and slowly explained to them the animator job description. I said that it is much more than cartoons, and I explained that someone with talent, like their son, could do well. I must have said something right because they calmed down.
